A Wireline Tool String is made up of set Tools (Work String) to do specific Wireline operations down-hole.

Service Tools are engineered for either singular or multi-functional applications in wireline operations.

Running Tools were designed primarily to set or position downhole flow controls and devices to a predetermined depth in the well by Wireline methods.

Pulling Tools were designed primarily to retrieve subsurface locking devices and other downhole Wireline Service Equipment from the tubing bore.
